Women in the Surf Industry: “It’s interesting that it’s still a surprise to us.”

After spending a lot of time on competition surfing the past few episodes, this week Shannon and Rachael get closer the heart of why they wanted to start this podcast in the first place - a discussion around women in the surf industry.

With the announcement of Brooke Farris as CEO of Rip Curl, and the WSL CT event in Mexico featuring two women on the judging panel for the first time ever, Shan and Rach are both extremely excited about these developments, while also questioning why appointments like this are still so groundbreaking in 2021.

Meanwhile Hot Topics sizzle with Justine Dupont’s Teahupo’o induction, Boardmasters action in the UK, Australian surfers fundraising for the Challenger Series, and a recap of Mexico and the CT Final 5.

Our first international correspondent also joins us as Ixa Marieta catches up with Regina Pioli following her performance as one of the first two Mexican women to surf a WSL CT event.
